for the “SlimShift PDF” app for macOS. In short: the app does not collect any personal data – your documents are processed locally on your Mac only.

2. Principle: your documents stay on your Mac

SlimShift PDF processes the PDF files you open locally on your device only. The app does not connect to any server – neither ours nor any third party’s – and works completely offline. Files, file contents or any other data are never transmitted to us or third parties. We have no access to your documents.

There is no user account and no registration.

3. File access

The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox. It can only access files you select yourself – via the Open dialog, by drag and drop, or via the Save dialog when exporting. It has no access to any other files or folders.

4. No ads, no tracking, no analytics

The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools and no advertising identifiers. There is no tracking as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency. No usage profiles are created.

5. Permissions

The app does not require any special permissions. It does not access the camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendars or photos, and it does not use any network connection.

6. Mac App Store and crash reports

The app is distributed via Apple’s Mac App Store. Apple processes data for downloads and purchases under its own responsibility; we do not receive any personal data from you. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for details.

If you have agreed in System Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides us with anonymized crash reports and usage statistics. These do not allow any conclusions about you or your documents. You can turn this off at any time under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

7. Data security

Processing takes place on your device only and is protected by macOS security mechanisms (App Sandbox, file access only after your selection). No data is transmitted to external servers.

8. Deletion

As the app does not store any personal data, there is nothing to delete. Uninstalling the app also removes its local settings.

9. Your rights

As we do not collect any personal data through the app, we hold no data we could provide information about or delete. Regardless of this, under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Independent Centre for Privacy Protection Schleswig-Holstein (ULD). If you have any questions, contact us at info@nordicdatahub.de.

10. Changes

We update this privacy policy when the app or the legal framework changes. The current version is always available on this page. For information on data processing on this website, see the website privacy policy.
